Canadian Solar Inc. has energized five solar power plants in the U.K., adding 22.9 MW to its PV portfolio in the region that currently is marked at 63.1 MW.
Three of the solar plants – Royston Solar Park, Wick Road Solar Park and Pant-Y-Moch Solar Park – are being developed under the community scheme, with a community solar component totaling 12.5 MW. Canadian Solar says that these three community projects will be built and energized in the first half of this year.
The company says it has already connected 14.7 MW of commercial capacity from these three solar facilities, which were brought online in the fourth quarter of last year.
Two other solar power plants – Long Meadow Solar Farm and Slade Solar Farm – totaling 8.2 MW were connected to the grid in the fourth quarter of last year under the Renewables Obligation Certificate program.
