The Brockton (Mass.) Brightfield, an environmentally remediated brownfield that features a 425 kW solar energy system designed and constructed by Global Solar Energy Inc., a Tucson, Ariz.-based manufacturer of thin film solar cell products, is officially complete. An inauguration that was held at the end of October celebrated the project's completion.
Global Solar Energy used SCHOTT Solar's photovoltaic (PV) modules that were manufactured in Billerica, Mass., for the brightfield, the company says. The Brockton Brightfield is now the largest solar energy plant in New England and the largest brightfield in the nation, the companies say.
