Centrosolar AG has developed a new thin-film photovoltaic system, the TF Multi Professional, for flat roofs. The product will be officially launched during the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition in September in Germany.
The new design is an on-roof mounting system using UNI-SOLAR laminates from Energy Conversion Devices Inc. It consists of a 5600 mm x 455 mm folded aluminum profile sheet, onto which thin-film laminates are permanently applied at an inclination of 11 degrees. Mounting is achieved with the help of a top-hat rail, which can be installed on most synthetic roofing membranes. Roof penetrations are not required.
The system features a nominal power output of 144 W, Centrosolar says. The UNI-SOLAR laminates consist of triple-junction solar cells that generate high energy yields, including under high temperatures or diffuse lighting conditions.
