Germany-based Centrosolar says that its PV modules have received certification confirming that the modules meet European production requirements. Solar installations using European-produced equipment are eligible for higher feed-in tariffs (FITs) under Italy's Conto Energia IV legislation.
Centrosolar commissioned Germany's TUV Rheinland to perform the accreditation. The certificate, issued in early August, confirms that 60% of the value created during the manufacturing of system components takes place within Europe. This ‘value’ refers to the essential steps in the manufacturing process, such as the lamination and interconnection of the cells, Centrosolar explains. The company manufactures all of its modules in its solar factory in northern Germany.
