China Nuvo Solar Making Strides With Pilot Project

0

China Nuvo Solar Energy Inc. says its collaboration development agreement partner, Pioneer Materials Inc., has completed staffing for the company's pilot production project in Chengdu, China.

The leader of this project is Leon Chiu, president and CEO of PMI, who received his M.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. in engineering from UCLA. The principal investigator and solar engineer for work at the Chengdu facility will be Lixin Dong, assistant professor of materials science at Southwest Jiaotung University.

The initial project focus is to develop a single-junction solar cell with commercial efficiency utilizing materials provided by PMI and incorporated into China Nuvo's ceramic-sleeve solar technology. The company believes this strategy will provide the baseline for development of a multi-stacked solar cell that could provide a high degree of efficiency at a low cost per watt.
