The city of Palo Alto, Calif., has issued a request for proposals (RFP) from qualified firms to provide electric power generated by new renewable resources to meet the city's renewable portfolio needs. The city seeks to contract for up to 150 GWh/year of renewable electric power for terms of up to 30 years from any eligible renewable resource.
Eligible renewable resources include wind, small hydroelectric, geothermal, landfill gas, biomass, photovoltaic, solar thermal (with or without natural gas assist), qualifying municipal solid waste conversion, digester gas, fuel cells employing renewable fuel, ocean wave, ocean thermal, wave and tidal current.
