SolarCity Corp. and the City of Sacramento have completed two solar installations, totaling 1.5 MW, at the E.A. Fairbairn Water Treatment Plant and the Sacramento River Water Treatment.
SolarCity financed, installed and will maintain the solar systems. The company says it custom-designed the ground-mount panel installations to factor in the water tank weight constraints.
In addition, city officials can track the installations' energy production and consumption with SolarCity's PowerGuide monitoring service, which is fully integrated with the city's own centralized monitoring system.
