Clariant Introduces Solar Thermal Heat-Transfer Fluid To North America

0

Switzerland-based specialty chemical provider Clariant says its solar thermal heat-transfer fluid, Antifrogen SOL HT, is now available in North America.

This new product offers thermal stability while providing the corrosion inhibition required for maintaining system performance, the company says. Because of Antifrogen SOL HT's properties, solar thermal system manufacturers can expand their design parameters.

Antifrogen SOL HT was developed as an alternative to traditional heat-transfer fluids that experience thermal decomposition at temperatures above 170 degrees C. Antifrogen SOL HT is designed to withstand short-term stagnation temperatures of greater than 260 degrees C without breaking down and forming insoluble residues.

In addition to enhanced thermal stability, Antifrogen SOL HT offers corrosion inhibition in combined-metal environments, the company notes.
