CNPV Solar Power SA says its monocrystalline and polyscrystalline PV modules have met performance standards under IEC62804 certification, which pertains to potential induced degradation (PID) in PV modules.
The objective of the standard is to evaluate crystalline silicon PV module durability to system voltage stress with a maximum power degradation of less than 5% for test conditions of 60 degrees C, 85% relative humidity and -1,000 V DC for a continuous period of 96 hours.
Degradation measured in CNPV's modules was well below 0.3%, the company says. ‘Many customers and end users have shown interest in PID prevention progress in recent months,’ notes Bypina Veerraju Chaudary, chief operating officer and chief technology officer at CNPV. xannonce.ch
