Cogenra Solar, a provider of distributed solar cogeneration systems, will install a solar cogeneration project at the Tucson Medical Center (TMC), a community hospital in Tucson, Ariz.
The 46 SunDeck module system, constructed on the roof of the TMC power plant, will provide the building with solar electricity and solar hot water. Cogenra's solar cogeneration array is TMC's first renewable energy project.
Working with Technicians for Sustainability, Cogenra Solar is constructing a solar thermal system that will pre-heat an average of 5,300 gallons of water daily for the reverse osmosis boiler. The system will go online this month and is expected to produce 31,600 kWh of electricity, according to Cogenra.
