CohnReznick Think Energy LLC (CRTE) is adding its support to NRG Energy and Digicel Group in their effort to develop, acquire, build and operate renewable energy projects throughout the Caribbean. CRTE will focus on investment capital and the financial and environmental benefits of such projects to the governments, utilities and people of the region.
Although most of the development projects are likely to involve solar power, all renewable technologies are being considered.
‘Understanding the right mix of technologies – from energy storage, to wind systems, to solar – is key in providing the greatest financial and environmental benefits to the region,’ says CRTE President Mark Crowdis. ‘Proven technologies with a track record of successful performance will be the cornerstone of this effort.’
CRTE says it will manage a request for proposals process for NRG and Digicel to solicit property owners, developers, governments, installers and others to provide information on renewable energy projects in development for possible investment.
