Colexon has inaugurated what the company says is the world's largest rooftop photovoltaic power plant featuring thin-film technology. The 4.64 MW system is located in Hassleben, Germany.
Project construction involved the installation of 64,000 modules on a rooftop area measuring 193,000 square meters. A total of 10,000 of the modules, which were manufactured by First Solar in Brandenburg, Germany, were lifted to the roof by helicopter.
Colexon plans to expand the project by 1.2 MW.
