The Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association (COSEIA) has officially launched its Million Solar Roofs campaign as part of its Solar Power Colorado conference held this week.
The goal of Colorado's Million Solar Roofs campaign is to generate approximately 3 GW – or enough solar energy to power one million Colorado homes and businesses – through a combination of photovoltaic electric systems and solar thermal heating and cooling systems by 2030.
The goal would increase Colorado's solar energy approximately tenfold from what is installed today, COSEIA says. The program is inspired by a successful effort launched in California in 2007.
