Maui County Mayor Alan Arakawa, Flyers Energy, Pacific Power Renewables (PPR), Solaria Corp., and Maui Electric Company (MECO) have dedicated the 568 kW BioReal solar power plant, located in Maui, Hawaii.

Through a public-private partnership, MECO, Flyers Energy and Pacific Power Renewables teamed to leverage Hawaii's feed-in-tariff program to build and develop the project. Flyers Energy contracted with MECO for a 20-year power purchase agreement. The project is expected to help MECO reach its goal of powering Maui with 40% renewable sources by 2030.

The solar system was designed and installed by PPR, using low-concentration Solaria photovoltaic modules operating on PPR's proprietary single-axis ground-mounted tracker, SunViper.
