Companies Partner To Develop PV Electric Systems For Greenhouses

0

Fremont, Calif.-based photovoltaic module supplier Solaria Corp. has formed a partnership with Soliculture, a Scotts Valley, Calif.-based provider of greenhouse-integrated PV systems for commercial growers.

Under the agreement, Solaria has made an equity investment in Soliculture that will enable the companies to combine their technologies to develop new products for greenhouse growers. Solaria is supplying its cell processing technology for use with Soliculture's luminescent solar concentrator technology. The new modules are able to generate electricity in an altered light spectrum optimized for plant growth.

The companies have completed their first commercial project for a large commercial greenhouse grower in northern California.Â
