The Conergy Group says it has completed Great Britain's largest solar power plant – a 5 MW park in Hawton, which is near Newark in Nottinghamshire. The project was built in cooperation with Lark Energy and was completed six weeks after receiving the planning consent in late May.
The installation covers a total area of 14.6 hectares. Conergy installed 21,600 of its PowerPlus modules on approximately 40 km of the company's SolarLinea mounting systems. Annually, the modules are expected to produce 4,860 MWh of electricity.
