Consarc Corp., an Inductotherm Group company, says it is working on a multimillion-dollar project devoted to producing multicrystalline silicon ingots at a fraction of the cost of traditional directional solidification furnaces by using electromagnetic cold crucible (EMCC) furnace technology.
The testing phase of the EMCC furnace is expected to begin in September.
