Baltimore-based utility Constellation Energy has named Michael D. Smith senior vice president of retail green initiatives.
In this role, he will lead solar sales and green initiatives for the company's competitive retail energy businesses. Smith will oversee the development and implementation of sustainable product offerings, including renewable generation, energy efficiency, demand response and greenhouse gas reduction strategies.
In addition, Smith will lead the company's growing solar power business and a dedicated commercial solar sales team focused on the rapid deployment of customer-sited solar installations.
Smith joined Constellation Energy in 2003. He previously served as vice president and director of Constellation Energy's international energy policy office in London, where he managed Constellation Energy's activities in the European Union carbon and renewable energy markets, among other regulatory activities.
