U.K.-based electrical services contractor JT Hawkes says it recently completed work on three solar farms in Dorset and the Isle of Wight. The company worked as a subcontractor for Germany-based abakus solar AG, which provided the photovoltaic panels. Inazin Power developed the projects, and Low Carbon Solar Ltd. provided funding.

According to JT Hawkes, the three sites required 75,000 PV panels and have a combined capacity of 17 MW. The company says it designed and installed the entire power distribution network for each farm, which included building trenches for a total of 623,000 yards of solar cable and DC supply cabling and fitting the inverters.
