Cooper Bussmann, a provider of circuit protection, power management and electrical safety products, has launched a new combiner box range that provides protection, switching and monitoring for PV systems.
Designed for system voltages from 600 VDC to 1,000 VDC, the new range combines the latest in overcurrent, overvoltage and monitoring technology in one custom-built package, the company says.
With a capacity of up to 24 input strings, the combiner box can accommodate a wide range of input currents using 1 A to 20 A ratings in 10 x 38 mm fuses and 25 A to 32 A ratings in 14 mm x 51 mm fuses.
Each fuse is housed in a gPV-rated fuse holder, with the 10 mm x 38 mm modular fuse holders benefiting from additional fuse indication. The fuse holders are spaced to allow good airflow, which the company says is important for dissipating excess heat under typical operating conditions for PV installations.
