Credit Suisse Commits Capital To Renewable Energy Sector

Credit Suisse, together with its clients and affiliates, says it will commit at least $300 million to make principal investments in the renewable energy sector through Hudson Clean Energy Partners.

John Cavalier, head of Credit Suisse's renewable energy investment banking practice, will join Hudson as a partner. He joins Neil Auerbach, Hudson's founder, as co-managing partner of the investment platform.

‘Credit Suisse has been looking to invest its own capital in renewable energy for a long time, and the firm has been supportive of my desire to transition from investment banking to principal investing in the sector,’ Cavalier says. ‘I am highly confident that Hudson will become the premier private equity firm in the clean energy sector for years to come.’
