U.K.-based Crompton Solar, part of Crompton Controls, has developed Combi-Switch, a plug-and-play switching system designed to aid installers in completing wiring work for PV installations.
The unit uses ‘true DC isolators,’ not AC-type isolators that have been de-rated or re-wired for DC operation, the company notes. It is packaged in a steel enclosure complete with internally wired PV cable connectors and pre-fitted safety labelling.
In addition to the Combi-Switch, installers now have the option of the Combi-Complete, which combines the inverter, the Combi-Switch and the meter. This system was designed for large roll-out or one-off installations.
