Crystal Solar has completed an incubator project funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to develop epitaxial solar cell and module technology and manufacturing techniques. The company is focused on commercializing its Epi Thin-Silicon technology.
Crystal Solar says the project, which was managed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, evaluated several product architectures and supporting manufacturing processes. The company hopes to complete pilot production in 2013, followed by high-volume manufacturing in 2014.
