Oerlikon Systems says a Europe-based crystalline solar cell manufacturer has placed an order for multiple SOLARIS systems. The equipment is scheduled to be delivered next year.
SOLARIS is designed for front-side and back-side coating of crystalline silicon solar cells using clean plasma vapor deposition sputtering technology. Its multi-layer capability allows passivation and SiN coating on the front side, as well as coating of the back side, with various materials. Its small footprint (3.3 meters x 2.2 meters) and easy integration into existing production lines give SOLARIS a low cost of ownership, according to Oerlikon Systems.
