The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF) recently hosted a dedication ceremony to unveil a 4 kW solar photovoltaic (PV) system installed at Keefe Community Center in Hamden, Conn. The town of Hamden earned this solar PV system through the Connecticut Clean Energy Communities Program of CCEF, the organization says.
At the dedication ceremony, remarks were made by State Sen. Joseph Crisco, Hamden mayor Craig Henrici, and representatives from CCEF, SmartPower and SolarWrights.
Bob Wall, director of energy market initiatives for CCEF, stated, ‘It is truly fitting that this solar array has been installed at Hamden's community center. Now, residents and visitors alike will be able to see that clean energy is a powerful and reliable source of electricity.’
‘I am hopeful that it is the first of many installations we will be doing as part of this program,’ added Aaron Gustafson, the former chair of Hamden's Energy Use and Climate Change Commission. ‘I believe it is a testament to how much Hamden's residents care about our environment and the sustainability of our town.’
