Day4 Energy Reduces Workforce At Production Facility

Day4 Energy Inc., a provider of solar photovoltaic modules and related products, has implemented a reduction in its overall headcount, affecting approximately 30 people primarily at its Burnaby, B.C., pilot production facility.

‘Last year, we acquired ACI, an equipment manufacturing company providing significant enhanced expertise in our European base,’ says George Rubin, president of Day4 Energy. ‘Between the two companies, we are realigning the cost structure and workforce to better serve our customers with our EU base focused on sales, customer care and supply chain management and our Burnaby-based operations dedicated primarily to [research and development].’

Rubin adds that the layoffs will also allow the company to ‘place greater emphasis on new technology development and marketing,’ which he calls the ‘backbone’ of the Burnaby operation.
