Following two rounds of hearings, officials at the Environment Ministry in Berlin are expected to announce a proposed reduction in the country's solar feed-in tariffs next week.
‘There's an agreement that the level of the support has to more closely track the speed of the expansion of photovoltaic power,’ Holger Krawinkel, an energy expert for the federal consumer protection agency lobby who attended the meetings, told Reuters.
Government officials, consumer lobby groups and representatives from solar companies have been attending the talks. ‘Moderate’ reductions in the tariffs are expected, according to Reuters.
