DEK Solar, a provider of screen printing equipment and processes for solar cell and fuel cell manufacture, has developed Apollo, a new integrated cell manufacturing metallization platform.

Apollo is designed to optimize accuracy for print-on-print and selective-emitter processes and offers customers repeatability as well as high performance in a small-footprint, single-line configuration, according to DEK.

‘Apollo boasts market-leading accuracy, increased capability and advanced features, and allows us to now offer a comprehensive portfolio of metallization platforms ring-fencing the complete spectrum of PV customers, from entry-level start-up through to the multi-national cell makers,’ says Darren Brown, alternative energy global business manager at DEK.

Apollo offers a breakage rate of less than 0.15% and can process 1,450 wafers per hour, DEK says. It features topside cameras for fiducial or pattern alignment, and incorporates handling, conveyoring and drying equipment.
