Despatch Industries, a solar process technology provider, has hired John Farrell to serve as managing director of the company's solar business group. In his new role, he will be responsible for leading the growth of the company's solar business, including solar strategy, product and technology development, engineering and global service.
Farrell has over 14 years of domestic and international management experience with Applied Materials, where he held various business positions in its semiconductor and solar business segments, including director of business management, Asia, for the Etch product business group and, most recently, director of business management for the thin-film solar products group.
