Ameresco Inc., an energy efficiency and renewable energy company, has hired Richard Deutschmann as senior project developer for the company's federal solutions group in Columbia, Md.
Deutschmann comes to Ameresco with 25 years of energy experience and has primarily focused on the solar energy industry. In his new role, he will develop and execute strategies to grow solar energy capabilities that will serve the company's federal government clients. He will also manage a portfolio of projects ranging from 100 kW to more than 10 MW, including rooftop, ground-mounted and parking canopy applications.
Earlier in his career, Deutschmann co-founded and served as CEO of Chesapeake Solar, a solar integrator based in the Mid-Atlantic region. Under his leadership for nearly a decade, the company experienced rapid growth and was named one of Inc. 500's fastest-growing U.S. companies in 2008. It was acquired by groSolar Inc. in 2008.
