U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Steven Chu says that the DOE has finalized a $967 million loan guarantee to Agua Caliente Solar LLC. The conditional guarantee was announced in January.
The loan guarantee will support the construction of the Agua Caliente solar project, a 290 MW photovoltaic solar generating facility in Yuma County, Ariz., that will use thin-film solar panels manufactured by First Solar Inc. The project sponsor is NRG Solar LLC.
