The Dow Chemical Co. has begun production in Thailand of its Enlight polyolefin encapsulant films, which are used in the manufacture of PV modules.
The Map Ta Phut, Thailand, site is expected to allow Dow to double global production capacity immediately. The company says it is also constructing a third manufacturing site for this film in Schkopau, Germany, which will also bring additional capacity.
Dow has had an additional production facility in Findlay, Ohio, since December 2010.
