Dow Corning Corp.'s board of directors elected Robert D. Hansen CEO of Dow Corning; former CEO Stephanie A. Burns remains chairman. Hansen has been employed by Dow Corning for 29 years. He was named president in November 2010 and will continue to serve as president, the company says.
Hansen joined Dow Corning's finance function in 1982. Six years later, he relocated to Brazil as regional finance manager, returning to the U.S. in 1992 as economic evaluator and controller for the rubber business. Hansen became the manager for the South American region in 1996.
He was named vice president and general manager of the Core Products Business in 2005 and was subsequently promoted to executive vice president.
