EarthNet Energy, a Chambersburg, Pa.-based manufacturer of solar thermal evacuated tube systems, has introduced a solar thermal dissipator designed to provide overheat protection.
The dissipator is offered in a kit consisting of a three-way 24-volt solenoid valve, a 24-volt transfer and a coil dissipater. The components can also be sold separately, the company notes.
When the solar storage tank reaches a predetermined temperature, the controller diverts the heat-transfer fluid through the dissipation coil, EarthNet Energy explains. The solenoid valve has the capability to divert to a second storage tank, a swimming pool application, a fan coil heater or a radiant dissipation coil.
