Irvine, Calif.-based ecoSolargy has installed a 63.75 kW solar system on the roof of the headquarters of MGM Plastics, a San Marcos, Calif.-based company that performs plastic fabrication and machining services.
The installation features ecoSolargy Titan 1000 modules and four Solectria inverters, and ecoSolargy expects the project to offset 85% of MGM Plastics’ electricity costs over the next 25 years. Alan H. Lee, CEO of ecoSolargy, estimates MGM Plastics will save $25,000 in the first year, with increasing amounts in following years as electricity costs increase.
“With generous government incentives available, companies such as MGM Plastics are finding that solar systems can be installed inexpensively and will dramatically reduce their monthly electricity bills,” remarks Lee.
Martin Brix, director of commercial PV at ecoSolargy, says ecoSolargy is working on other commercial projects throughout Southern California.
