EDF Energies Nouvelles Secures Thin-Film Solar Supply From Nanosolar

EDF Energies Nouvelles has signed a photovoltaic panel supply master agreement with Nanosolar and invested $50 million in the company via EDF Energies Nouvelles Reparties.

Under the master supply agreement, EDF will gain access to part of Nanosolar's production of thin-film copper indium gallium selenide solar panels from 2009 onwards. EDF says the supply will help the company expand its solar activities in North America.

In parallel to the signing of the panel supply agreement, the EDF Energies Nouvelles Reparties subsidiary is providing a $50 million equity financing investment to further accelerate Nanosolar's production.
