The Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) has partnered with Wal-Mart to seek proposals for innovative thin film solar technology projects. These renewable energy systems – including solar cells incorporated into building materials such as roofing or windows – could help Wal-Mart reduce its energy use and create a new market for these advanced technologies.
To match the best technology to the best location, the EDF and Wal-Mart request for proposals is the first to evaluate projects for benefits to the environment, technological advances and financial viability, EDF says.
