EMCORE Corp. has been awarded a $4.6 million follow-on production order for solar cell receiver assemblies from Concentration Solar la Mancha of Manzanares, based in Spain. The receivers will be incorporated into Concentration Solar la Mancha's 500X concentrator photovoltaic system and will be deployed throughout Spain and other locations in fully licensed and funded projects. Shipments are scheduled to commence in the September quarter and complete in early 2009.
EMCORE's line of integrated solar cell receiver assemblies are optimized for operation from 500X to 1000X concentration, providing terrestrial-system integrators with a complete PV solution, the company says.
