ENN Solar Energy Unveils New Silicon Thin-Film Solar Modules

0

ENN Solar Energy Co. Ltd. has introduced new silicon thin-film solar modules featuring tandem-junction technology.

The power output per installed watt is much higher than that of conventional PV cells, the company says, and the oversized modules can be used for a variety of applications, from entire ground-mounted solar parks to integrated roof or facade solutions, to classic large rooftop installations.

With tandem-junction technology, two layers of amorphous and microcrystalline silicon are applied to the glass substrate. The layer of amorphous silicon absorbs short-wave light, while the other layer absorbs long-wave light.

As a result, the PV cells are able to efficiently convert solar energy into electricity, even in less-than-perfect weather conditions, such as low or diffused light, according to the company.

The energy payback time of ENN Solar modules is only half of that for crystalline silicon modules, setting standards for the industry, ENN Solar adds. The company is mass-producing its PV modules in order to reach 60 MW production capacity by the end of this year.
