Enphase Energy Donates Micro-Inverters To School Solar Installations

Enphase Energy Inc. has partnered with the Brian D. Robertson Memorial Solar Schools Fund (BDR Fund) to install solar photovoltaic systems in at least 25 K-12 schools across the U.S.

The donations will contribute to the fund's goal of installing 20,000 solar PV systems to U.S. schools by the year 2020. Named after the late U.S. solar sector pioneer Brian Robertson, the BDR Fund is a project of The Solar Foundation.

Local environmental nonprofit and youth charity Climate Circle completed the first joint BDR Fund-Enphase PV installation in April at the Josephine Locke Elementary School in downtown Chicago.

Enphase plans to donate up to 100 micro-inverters and 25 Envoy communication gateway devices for small educational PV systems at schools this year. The BDR Fund will identify and select the recipient schools, handling all installation logistics.

Enphase says teachers at project schools will also be able to include relevant solar data in their curriculum by using its Enlighten monitoring software.
