Mercantile Development Inc. (MDI), a manufacturer of industrial wipers, has completed a 325.5 kW solar photovoltaic array on the roof of its production facility in Shelton, Conn.
MDI partnered on the project with EnterSolar, a provider of commercial solar systems to corporate customers. The array includes more than 1,300 modules, a central commercial inverter and a data acquisition system. The system is expected to produce more than 400,000 kWh annually, according to the companies.
The project utilized Connecticut's zero-emission renewable energy credit program, as well as federal incentives.
