Evergreen Solar Inc., a manufacturer of String Ribbon solar power products, has appointed Michael El-Hillow president and CEO, effective immediately. He replaces Richard M. Feldt, who has left the company.
El-Hillow previously served as chairman of the board for Evergreen from October 2005 to January 2007, when he was recruited to the company as the chief financial officer. In September 2009, he also assumed the responsibilities of chief operations officer. He will continue to oversee operations in his new role, and the company says it will immediately begin a search for a new chief financial officer.
Edward C. Grady will succeed Feldt as the chairman of the Evergreen Solar board of directors.Â
