Evergreen Solar Inc., a manufacturer of String Ribbon solar panels with its proprietary silicon wafer technology, has received the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) certificate from the U.K.'s British Board of Agreement. This certification authorizes the company's ES-A series panels for solar projects supported by the Renewables Cash-Back Scheme.
The Renewables Cash-Back Scheme has been active in the U.K. since April. Homeowners and communities who install low-carbon electricity, including solar panels, are paid for the electricity they generate, even if they use it themselves. Solar projects are required to use MCS-certified panels installed by MCS-accredited installers to be eligible for funding.
