Fat Spaniel Technologies (FST), a San Jose, Calif.-based provider of power generation solutions, has completed its 500th installation of the company's energy monitoring solutions.
FST's 500th installation was completed on the island of Kadavu, located 100 kilometers south of Fiji. The company installed a PV2Web, which monitors an off-grid hybrid wind and solar generation system via online, a mobile phone or PDA (personal digital assistant). FST worked with Clay Engineering, based in Fiji, to develop the PV2Web – Clay Engineering will maintain the system.
‘It is a very rewarding experience to see the communities in these remote islands have access to communications that we often take for granted,’ says Bruce Clay, Clay Engineering's chief executive officer.
