Fibox Enclosures recently announced expanded UL and cUL environmental ratings for its ARCA series enclosures. In addition to the Type 4 and 4X hose-down rating, Type 6, 6P, 12 and 13 ratings have been added for enclosures 12 inch x 10 inch and smaller.
These ratings, the company says, apply to a screw-cover enclosure, a hinged screw-cover enclosure and a hinged enclosure with several latch configurations. Type 6 and 6P are 6 feet (1.8 meter) submersion ratings for one and 24 hours, respectively. Type 12 and 13 ratings add protection from oil and non-corrosive coolants. Larger ARCA sizes also have additional ratings and are now rated Type 4, 4X, 12, and 13.
The ARCA enclosures are manufactured using injection-molded polycarbonate – a high-performance plastic – and offer ease of customization, robustness, superior chemical resistance and a wide temperature range. The stylized cover features an overlapping design that provides protection of the formed-in-place polyurethane gasket. Mounting plates, plus fixed and hinged inner panels, are available in either metallic or non-metallic versions, Fibox notes.
