Power generation and transmission company LS Power has completed construction on the first phase, totaling 19 MW of output, of the Arlington Valley Solar Energy Project (AV Solar) in Arizona.
Fluor Corp. is the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the installation, as well as provides operation and maintenance services. The photovoltaic panels were supplied by Kyocera and Hyundai, and financing was provided by Prudential Capital Group and a bank group led by Banco Santander S.A. GE Energy Financial Services is participating in AV Solar as an equity partner.
When AV Solar is completed, 127 MW AC will be delivered to the grid. The project, which is located on more than 1,100 acres of land, has a long-term power purchase agreement with San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E).
