FlaSEIA Formalizes Partnership With National SEIA

Following in the footsteps of several other state-level solar associations, the Florida Solar Energy Industries Association (FlaSEIA) and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) have entered into a formalized partnership designed to coordinate the resources of both organizations and promote the growth of the state's solar energy market.

‘Florida has an opportunity to be one of the top solar markets in the U.S., but it will take leadership at the national as well as local level to achieve its full potential,’ says Tom Kimbis, vice president of strategy and external affairs for national SEIA. ‘Today, Florida trails other states in solar deployment that have far less sunshine and lack Florida's long history with solar energy. It's time for Florida to get back in the lead.’

Florida's growing solar industry employs over 4,200 workers, the sixth highest number in the nation, according to the associations.
