Irving, Texas-headquartered Fluor Corp. has been awarded an engineering services contract by Elecnor SA for a new 50 MW concentrating solar power (CSP) plant in Badajoz, Spain. Fluor will book the undisclosed contract value this quarter.
Fluor will provide detailed engineering and other associated services for the project. When complete, the 50 MW CSP generating facility will capture solar energy using parabolic-trough mirrors.The project is under way, with engineering expected to be complete by the second quarter of 2011.
