Foster Wheeler AG says that a subsidiary of its global power group has been awarded a contract to design and supply a solar steam generator system – including preheaters, drum-type evaporators, superheaters, interconnecting piping, valves, primary installation and commissioning, steel structures and site advisory services – for a plant located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The equipment will be integrated into a solar thermal power plant using concentrated parabolic trough technology and will have an installed power output capacity of 100 MW.
The terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Equipment delivery is scheduled for the third quarter of 2011.
