Fraunhofer Building Photovoltaic Test Lab In New Mexico

0

As part of a joint venture with the VDE Institute and the Canadian Standards
Association Group, Fraunhofer has begun building
the CFV Solar Test Laboratory, a new international test laboratory for photovoltaic modules, in Albuquerque, N.M.

The goal of the new laboratory is to make international testing and certification services available under one roof for photovoltaic module manufacturers in North America. According to the partners, as competition in the field mounts, the pressure on manufacturers to provide quality and transparent documentation for worldwide markets increases.

The Greater Albuquerque area is already home to a large number of photovoltaic and high-tech firms, the companies note. The test laboratory is also expected to benefit from its proximity to the University of New Mexico and Sandia National Lab.
